Transforming a Kensington Terraced Home with Bespoke Joinery

In collaboration with Zulufish, we fully transformed a four-storey Kensington home into a glamorous urban retreat, combining striking materials and layered textures. The result is a collection of thoughtfully crafted rooms, each showcasing bespoke joinery that brings both elegance and practicality to the forefront.

A Living Room with Pops of Colour

In the formal living room, the TV units feature a polished plaster backdrop with open shelving sections, crafted in metal effect Xylocleaf and complemented by an Oyster Caesarstone worktop. Below, the low-level joinery showcases the same metal effect finish with acoustic fabric on the doors for sound-optimised storage.

A Kitchen Defined by Texture and Detail

The kitchen is clad in a striking, metallic grey veneer. The cabinetry combines wide reeded and flush doors, creating a dynamic, textured effect that adds depth to the space. A sleek porcelain worktop, mitred to perfection with a shark nose overhang on the island, serves as a focal point, bringing a refined edge to the room. Smoked bronze handles and a mix of Miele and Gaggenau appliances complete this modern kitchen.

Additional storage lines the wall in the form of wide slatted panelling, which extends the kitchen’s visual appeal into the adjacent living space. Cleverly concealed push-to-open pantry and storage cupboards maintain the clean lines of the design while adding practicality.

The dining area continues the theme with a custom dresser cabinet framed in sleek glass doors and blackened steel, standing on bespoke metal legs for a freestanding effect.

A Media Wall That Commands Attention

The media wall in a mix of bronze, black, and green patinated liquid metal effect panels showcases the true artistry of joinery. The use of dark bronze framing adds depth, while the open-backed design exposes polished plaster walls behind, offering a sense of layered dimension and elevating the visual impact of the living area.

Modern Wine Room and Utility Space

This home’s wine room is a hidden gem for enthusiasts, featuring three integrated wine coolers with flush, metallic grey veneer fronts and a push-to-open design, maintaining sleek, uninterrupted lines for a modern feel. The utility and boot room continues understated luxury with durable cabinetry and a Caesarstone worktop. A bench seat with open hanging and antique brass hooks adds warmth and character.

The study in this home features linen-textured cabinetry that combines open and closed storage for a refined look. Smoked bronze knobs and integrated lighting enhances the muted elegance of the workspace, making it both functional and visually appealing.

In the master suite, a beautifully crafted walk-in wardrobe features a calming colour palette and is paired with open display cabinets and sleek glass shelving. The snug is a welcoming retreat, enriched with personal touches and thoughtful design. The bespoke media wall combines metal-effect cabinetry with sleek Caesarstone worktops, housing the client’s vinyl collection and music books. Behind, linen wallpaper panels add texture and warmth, elevating the room’s cosy ambiance. The space is further brought to life with a striking wall of artwork showcasing the client’s 12 favourite album covers.
