We have recently completed a vast project in Putney, where bespoke joinery was designed, crafted and installed by Hux in almost all of the rooms. The overall design of the house relied heavily on having plenty of storage to hide away clutter and ensure the space flowed.
Our clients were not only after something practical but also something unique and interesting. In the kitchen and dining room we used dark walnut veneer with a contrasting satin smooth taupe spray-paint on the units. Additional depth was added using a bronze metal splashback in the dining room bar joinery.
The dining room leads on to a generous snug area for family time, an area which is used by the adults and children equally, therefore plenty of storage space was needed. We designed and crafted this huge backlit bookcase which filled the back wall of the room. It provides plenty of storage for the children’s toys with shelving for more decadent accessories.
At the front of the property is a beautiful and elegant formal living room, where we designed classic cabinetry, with panelling detail and melt in to the wall shelving giving a more timeless finish to the room.
Our sister company, Zulufish Residential, opened up unused roof space and created a double height study with a mezzanine, enabling us to craft beautiful double height floor to ceiling bookcase in a gentleman’s wenge wood finish.
The real show stopper of the house is a stunning and unique and bespoke 3D panelled wall, which cleverly conceals the TV behind it with invisible push latch doors. Across the hallway is a secluded dressing room, filled with elegant joinery, finished in a fresh oyster wood veneer.
Finally, in the eaves of the house we were able to have some fun creating bespoke joinery for the children’s bedroom. Designing the joinery to house the bed against the wall opened the room to provide plenty of play space as well as much needed storage underneath and at either end.
