Shaker Style
HUX’s brief for this project was to create a whole house bespoke joinery package with an urban, industrial feel for a design-led family home. The design team worked closely with the clients on the kitchen and the result is a real collaboration of shared ideas. The shaker style kitchen is finished in a deep teal and paired with a concrete worktop and exposed brick walls to create a NY loft inspired aesthetic. The full width stainless steel extractor hood was a custom design to fit above the industrial Wolfe cooker – a perfect example of ‘the bolder the better’.
The striking colours, together with surprising vintage touches, create a completely unique scheme. The design incorporates a double larder and breakfast pantry, and the main run of kitchen is also cleverly used to hide a party wall that ran at an angle to the room. The main feature of the room is the antique mirror backsplash that reflects the exposed brick in the dining space. Through the hallway, striking panelling conceals doors to a cloak cupboard, utility and powder room.
