HUX was briefed for this project to create a bespoke joinery package for a kitchen and dining space in Dulwich, complete with a unique retro feel. The striking 70’s style tiles are the highlight of the room, bringing the whole space together. These were the starting point for the designer’s scheme. Storage was a priority, so HUX designed two tone cabinetry in cherry wood veneer and pale pink spray-lacquer to complement and surround the tiling. Horizontal lozenge wall units compensate for the low ceiling height.
Floor to ceiling cabinets cleverly conceal the larder and matching wall panelling runs around the walls to discreetly hide access to a utility and WC. Additional storage is incorporated beneath the pivoting window reveal, doubling as a window seat. This kitchen ingeniously marries retro style and contemporary finishes, with a nanotech fingerprint and scratch resistant Fenix worktop. The colourful decorative pendant lights above the dining area both of which offset the retro cabinetry design.
