The Eton Avenue Project: A Showcase of Bespoke Luxury in Belsize Park
Welcome to the Eton Avenue Project, a stunning four-bedroom Edwardian property in Belsize Park, meticulously renovated by HUX and Zulufish for a couple in financial services and their two young children. This home, infused with African heritage and pieces collected from years of travel, exemplifies the beauty of bespoke joinery, contemporary design, and functional family spaces filled with light.
Modern and Asymmetric Living Room
The living room showcases HUX’s expertise in creating bespoke cabinetry. The black ash veneer adds a sophisticated touch, while the asymmetric, offset shelving unit, designed without back panels, gives the room an airy, freestanding feel. John Cullen Lighting minims and integrated LED strips highlight key objects, enhancing the room’s aesthetic appeal.
A Vibrant Kitchen and Matching Boot Room
The heart of the home, the kitchen, features stepped deco-shaker doors and is spray-painted in a rich Velvet Blue. The satin brass handles add a touch of elegance, perfectly complementing the white worktops.
A steel frame hanging shelving unit with glazed doors provides stylish yet practical storage, while the open bookshelf at the back of the island adds a welcoming touch for displaying cookbooks and decor.
The boot room, designed in the same style, offers ample storage space for coats and shoes, maintaining the kitchen’s cohesive look.
Luxurious Master Bedroom and Dressing Room
In the master bedroom, HUX created a serene retreat by building a stud wall to form a separate dressing room behind the bed. The wardrobes and panelling are hand-painted in an elegant eggshell colour, with Armac Martin cabinet pulls in satin brass lacquered adding a touch of luxury.
The floating dressing table and applied moulding door style create a cohesive and sophisticated look.
Creative and Playful Children’s Rooms
The daughter’s room features a mix of closed and open storage, built under the stairs up to the mezzanine floor. Muuto Dots wood handles in various sizes and orientations add to the playful design.
The son’s room echoes this approach, with two complementary tones of matte and linen textured materials. Dowsing & Reynolds leather handles in mink and forgotten silver add an unique touch. The under-stair wardrobes provide practical storage solutions in a visually appealing design.
