Timeless Joinery and Colourful Charm in a Primrose Hill Townhouse
HUX collaborated with Zulufish on the Gloucester Avenue project in Primrose Hill, transforming a 5-storey terraced house into a stunning space that beautifully combines clean, simple lines with playful touches. The result is a contemporary home that reflects the clients’ impressive art collection and sophisticated taste.
Library: A Modern Take on Mid-Century Design
The library features a walnut veneer shelving unit with sliding doors, offering a modern take on mid-century shelving and storage systems. Inspired by Mondrian’s use of colour, the sliding doors are spray painted in grey white, deep blue, and ruby red. Floating units and a Samsung Frame TV complete the look.
Record Player: Retro Charm
The bespoke walnut veneer unit which houses the record player matches the style of the library, with angled, tapered solid walnut furniture legs. Cable organisers in the worktop allow for power to speakers and a radio player, combining functionality with retro charm.
Gym: A Standout Room
The home gym is designed with contemporary oak acoustic panelling on the walls, integrated mirrors, and a small base cabinet with floating shelves above. The cool white cabinetry is designed with Armac Martin Edgbaston pull handles and a Caesarstone worktop.
Gunsmoke liquid metal frames to mirrors and a graphite grey shelving unit built into the eaves add to the gym’s sleek design.
Walk-in Wardrobe: Organised Luxury
The walk-in wardrobe is a highly organised space leading from the bedroom to the master ensuite, featuring flush door style and open storage with drawers. The design is further enhanced with glass worktops protecting surfaces, and integrated space for a laundry basket and angled shelves for shoes.
Master Ensuite: Clean and Minimalist
The master ensuite includes a floating vanity unit with drawers, graphite black bespoke metal framed mirrors, and spray-painted cabinetry in indigo blue. The Carrara Goia marble worktop with mitred edge detail creates a seamless look, while deck-mounted basins and matt black towel rails fitted to the fronts of drawers add a modern touch.
Snug: Cosy and Contemporary
The snug area is designed with flush door style cabinetry in delicate white. Floating base cabinets and floating shelves above offer both storage and display space, while Armac Martin handles add a touch of sophistication.
Study: A Modern Workspace
The study is designed in a contemporary white colour, decorated with colourful vases and books. It features a wide desk with two sets of drawers for ample storage, complemented by wide floating shelves above.
Kitchen Pantry: Industrial Chic
The pantry boasts stained oak shelving and cabinetry, complemented by black metal shelf support rails for an industrial look. A freestanding Caple wine fridge with three zones and varied depth shelves provide ample storage and display options for the clients’ wine collection.
Understairs Storage: Practical Elegance
Opposite the kitchen, the understairs storage area features additional storage space, spray painted in a delicate white. The cabinetry is accented with matt black handles, creating a sleek and functional space that blends with the kitchen’s aesthetic.
The Gloucester Avenue project highlights our expertise in designing spaces that are as aesthetically pleasing as they are practical, delivering a truly bespoke living experience.
