The Wavendon Project: Serenity and Modernity in Design

A family with young children sought to breathe new life into their West London family home. They envisioned a home that not only catered to their love of cooking but also offered ample space for their family’s evolving needs. Partnering with Zulufish, HUX embarked on a comprehensive renovation, focusing on creating a fluid open-plan kitchen and living area alongside meticulously designed joinery throughout the home.

This project was featured in an extensive 8-page article in Livingetc’s March 2024 issue. Read the full story here.

Kitchen

The renovation embraced a contemporary design style, characterised by a bold approach to colour and texture. The heart of this transformation—the kitchen—features a harmonious mix of spray-painted doors in Paint & Paper Library’s Squid Ink and timber effect Xylocleaf doors. This choice complements the polished plaster walls, creating a rich backdrop for polished Dekton ‘Bergen’ worktops and splashbacks. Notably, the kitchen incorporates Joseph Giles solid brass handles and an antique brass finger bar, adding a touch of elegance.

The kitchen boasts a double door pantry cabinet equipped with spice racks and LED lighting, alongside Blum space towers for optimal organisation. The living space is accented with a glazed dresser cabinet, offering a stylish display.

Living room

In the living room, HUX introduces dark oak effect cabinets, complemented by metallic Xylocleaf shelving that houses AV equipment. Offset display shelving and drop-down doors in Richlite’s Chocolate Glacier add warmth and sophistication.

Integrated LED lighting subtly backlights the shelves, enhancing the ambiance.

The master bedroom is a study in sophistication, with wardrobes showcasing concrete effect internals and doors in Little Greene’s French Grey. The integration of LED lighting and grooved door details showcase HUX’s commitment to craftmanship. Additionally, the room is anchored by a dark stained oak veneer bed and floating bedside cabinets, crowned with a fluted upholstered headboard.

Bathroom

A statement in the master bathroom, the silver mirror with a bevelled edge features integrated LED backlighting, evoking the refined ambiance of a smart hotel bathroom.

In the daughter’s bedroom, HUX crafted full-height wardrobes and bookshelves with light oak effect internals and doors in Farrow & Ball Shadow White, integrated with J-Groove handles for a sleek look. The son’s wardrobe doors are painted in Paint and Paper Library Greenback, with versatile storage solutions illuminated by sensor-activated LED lighting.

STudy

The study is thoughtfully designed with L-shaped bookshelves that frame a cosy sofa spot, creating an inviting area for reading and relaxation. The grey metallic concrete effect wardrobes are complete with an integrated AC unit above and Armac Martin T-Bar handles.
